Gilson’s New VERITY® 1601 ELS Detector Expands Detection Capabilities for New Compound Discover

Middleton, WI (February 21, 2022) – Gilson, a leader in purifications systems, announced today the launch of the VERITY® 1601 ELS Detector (ELSD). Designed for purifications by semi-preparative and preparative liquid chromatography (LC), the VERITY 1601 ELSD provides a powerful and cost-effective detection method for new compound discovery.

The VERITY 1601 ELSD is an evaporative light scattering detector that can detect any analyte with or without a chromophore that is less volatile than the eluent. The low-temperature evaporation feature allows the detection of semi-volatile or thermally labile compounds with high sensitivity.

The VERITY 1601 ELSD can be easily integrated into Gilson PLC purification systems. It is an ideal, complementary detector to UV-based purification systems to expand purification capabilities, ensuring the detection of compounds of interest. With the use of conditional logic fraction collection in TRILUTION® LC and GLIDER Software, the VERITY 1601 ELSD can detect and separate out impurities that are not seen by other detection methods, resulting in pure fractions.
